If you'd like to learn more about getting involved in the work World Relief does, or even the refugee resettlement process in general, or if you're a current volunteer who would like a refresher course,please consider joining us on one of the following evenings in August:
Volunteer Orientation in Oshkosh
When: Tuesday, August 22nd, 6:15-8:15pm.
Where: 115 Washington Ave. Oshkosh
Volunteer Orientation in Appleton
When: Tuesday, August 29th, 6:15-8:15pm.
Where:217 E. Pacific St. Appleton
Topics covered include: Who is World Relief?, What is a Refugee?, The Road to Resettlement, Refugees in the World, WRFV Staff, Adjustment Issues and Services Provided to Refugees, Self-Sufficiency, Volunteer Expectations, and Helping Without Hurting (along with videos, interactive exercises and time for questions).
Please e-mail our Community Outreach Coordinator, Kelsey Hulet, at: firstname.lastname@example.org to let her know that you will be attending so that we can get a rough head count for the evening. Friends and family are welcome to join you as well!
